Power Yoga Guernsey

Caroline Wickham set up Power Yoga in January 2009. Her unique and creative style of Yoga takes place at the Yogic Arts Centre, a peaceful oasis in the heart of St Peter Port.

Power Yoga embraces the physical, mental and spiritual aspects of our lives and helps us find the space and inner calm we all so deeply desire. It helps point us towards a positive way of living in today’s frantic world!

In 2010 Guernsey Power Yoga students adopted 3 of the remaining 150 Bengali tigers in Nepal through WWF.  Environmental initiatives continued through 2011 by saving 10,800 Amazon trees from deforestation (several 108 sun salutation sessions took place), plus we adopted a couple of Amazonian jaguars.  Students have also taken an active stance on reducing landfill by using metal water bottles instead of plastic ones – the real yoga in action or karma yoga.

Caroline achieved her Budokon Red Belt in Spain in April 2011 which qualifies her to teach this unique blend of Yoga, Martial Arts and Meditation.  ”Budokon is the future of fitness” as quoted in the New York Times and the principles of this mind and body art form have been evolving into Caroline’s Power Yoga sessions.  There are plenty of new initiatives planned for 2012, including more Yoga in action, so please watch this space.

Yoga is for everyone and is a tool for transformation. It will give you the power to transform yourself into a peaceful warrior.
